Costa Foundation

We believe that education is the first step towards a better life and our goal is to improve schools in the poorest coffee communities.

Change a child's life story

Schoolchildren participating and learning within a classroom We know that coffee growers are an essential part of our business - we couldn't continue to inspire the world to love great coffee without them!

Many coffee communities are located in remote rural areas, in some of the poorest countries in the world, and children in these communities often have little or no access to education.

The Costa* Foundation was started in 2006 to support people living in remote communities by building schools to provide children with a safe and quality education.

We know that education has the power to change a child's life story, so the Costa Foundation has a great vision: to eradicate poverty in coffee communities.

More than 1,000 jobs have been created for teachers, assistants, administrators, cooks, and general staff.

10 different countries in the coffee belt are now benefiting from a Costa Foundation school project, including Colombia, Uganda and Vietnam.

The Costa Foundation supports these communities without expecting anything in return, which means that we are often helping farmers in areas where we cannot buy their coffee.

These enormous achievements are only possible thanks to the enthusiasm and dedication of our teams to raise funds for the Costa Foundation, and the continued generosity of our clients and suppliers.

Our goal is to raise £20 million for the Costa Foundation by 2021 and finance 100 schools by 2020.
